In order to create your MailChimp account, you just need to fill up all the form fields. Once you’ve successfully created your account, you’ll be taken to your MailChimp account dashboard screen when logging into it.

Step 3 – Now that you’ve created your MailChimp account, next start building your first email list. To do so, hit the “Create a List” button as you can see in the screenshot below:


Enter all the details that you would like to show on your email list, including name, an email address, etc. And then, click on the Save button for implementing the changes that you’ve just made and your first email list will be ready. Finally, you need to do is connect your newly created list with your WordPress site.

Adding a Sign-up Form to WP Site

MailChimp comes loaded with a basic style subscription form by default. So, to choose a different type of signup form, browse the Lists page inside your MailChimp account. When visiting the page, you’ll be able to see a downward arrow button, click on that button and hit the “Signup forms” option:


After clicking on the Signup forms, you’ll be redirected to a page that contains two types of forms, including General and Embedded forms.


Click on the “Select” button corresponding to the Embedded forms option, and the settings page will open, as follows:


As you can see the page contains different form types like Classic, Super Slim and so on. Choose any one of the form types. Let’s assume you have selected the Classic form type, select the fields that you want to display in the form. Once you have completed the task, copy the embed code.

And at last, access your WordPress website dashboard screen. Once you’re inside the dashboard, navigate to Appearance → Widgets. In the Widgets page, add a “Text widget” in the sidebar. And then, page the code you copied above in that sidebar.
